What are they?

The simple answer is that they are surgical threads that dissolve over time

What do they do?

When placed below the skin act like a micro-injury in the skin so that the body can respond by creating more structural proteins i.e., collagen, elastin, fibrin, which results in smoother, plumper, youthful looking skin. Smooth threads are a skin booster, They tighten and smooth the skin helping to minimize fine lines and wrinkles. It is important to note that the results are not immediate,  results start showing after 4 weeks, with optimal results after a full treatment cycle at around 3 – 4 months

PDO smooth and twist threads do not have barbs that pull on the skin. They are a single filament thread designed to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which provide the scafolding to support healthy looking skin. Barbed threads are made with the goal of lifting skin.
